Main Objectives:
- To improve water quality and river ecology as well as reduction in pollution of river Mula -Mutha
- To intercept, divert and treat the domestic sewage generated discharging in the river
- To tackle the non-point sources of pollution to improve the hygienic condition of city and surrounding areas and aesthetics of river front.
- Institutional strengthening and capacity building & Public Awareness for sustainability of Projects.
Main Features:
- Total prevention of domestic sewage being discharged into river from Pune
- STPs with Decentralized approach.
- Provision of STPs to mitigate biological and bacterial pollution.
- Treated sewage to be used for agriculture – about 515 MLD pumped into agricultural canal (agreement with irrigation Dept.)
- Rehabilitation of existing 50 years old trunk sewer and existing STPs / IPS .
- Integration with the existing facilities
- To provide measures for sustainable operation & maintenance of the assets thus created.
